Last weekend I discovered the University of California's television
programming.I have only been able to watch a little bit but I really
like the idea.

The site summarizes itself with:

  Every week, UCTV airs approximately 25 hours of original programming,
  with a different thematic focus each night. The prime time line-up of
  featured programming is arranged as follows:
  
  Monday    - Health and Medicine
  Tuesday   - Science
  Wednesday - Public Affairs
  Thursday  - Variety
  Friday    - Humanities
  Saturday  - Arts and Music

 

Another source of videos is Google Videos.  Like much of the internet
Google Videos has a lot of crud but some of it is worth looking at.
Recently the ability to download videos as .avi files was added.   This
feature is great because the in-browser flash-based video player does a
less than ideal job with the display and sound quality.
