1) Unix Command Name Rosetta Stone

I came across the following page a while ago. It is useful for when you
think things like "what is the equivalent of 'tcpdump' on AIX?" or "Solaris
doesn't have 'top'?"

2) Product ideas are not what make a business succeed.

Robert May argues that coming up with a product idea is not what makes a
business succeed. He writes:

I used to think the key to entrepreneurship was a novel idea. Isn't that
what most of us believe? I wanted to invite a new high tech widget or
offer a cool new service that no one else had thought of. That was the
way I would make my millions.

The first blow came when I realized that ideas are mostly worthless.
Somebody else has thought of your invention, they just haven't built
it. If no one had thought of your idea, then it is probably beyond
  current technology to build anyway.

3) Traffic light changes to reduce collisions.

Some cities have "red light cameras" that take a picture or video tape of
cars that run red traffic lights. Then the owner of the vehicle gets a
ticket in the mail.

Now the system has been changed to prevent the lights for the other
direction from turning green. The idea is to prevent collisions. I wonder
how many people will learn that they no longer have to stop because the
light will adapt to their driving into an intersection against a red light.

4) Colour photos circa World War I.

Someone has found several colour photos from World War I. I really
recommend having a look at these.
